History
The majestic manor house at Orkanger in Sør Trøndelag was the home of a man of the world, Christian Thams - architect, minister, landowner and consul.
Christian Thams bought Bårdshaug Herregård in 1890 - it was originally the parsonage at Orkanger. He rebuilt the house in different styles and he drew the plans for the main building himself. The result was a distinctive manor house and a unique sight in the area - then as today.
